Thursday!

So, in the morning, we started with a morning devotion as usual. The worship song was 'make me a servant', or 成为合用的仆人! Good song rachel =) then morning devotion comprised of sharing John 15:18-27; her main point was that we would be persecuted because we are no longer of the world anymore, but as Pr Gideon said 'we have passed out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Christ' and so as they persecuted Christ so long ago, they would persecute us as well.

But it's not all doom and gloom! We can also take heart in the fact that He who knows that trouble is coming will also send us a means of coping and standing firm in that trouble, and that is the Holy Spirit，who will 'bear witness about me (Christ)'. The Spirit is the Counselor, an adviser who will what God intends, and who God is! In fact the Spirit is God so we always have God with us =）

We also went through some of the verses specifically, and realised that the sin mentioned in v. 22 referred to not to sin in general, as in ongoing everyday sin,or original, but the sin of rejecting God when He revealed Christ to us,manifested in the hating of,persecuting and the eventual condemnation and crucifixion of Christ by the crowd in Jerusalem.

After that it was back to work! Porlin was doing brochure and calling pei tan yuans (welcomers in church =), Li Ting and Rachel were doing the noticeboard (looks good! but fragile...), Jia Xi didn't bring laptop! (but you had piano lesson later so it's ok!) and me was doing beach evangelism and mission ministry stuff!

Lunch was at JustAcia (again!!) with chen hui zhi shi, cause he wanted to discuss with gideon about collaboration efforts between 青年崇拜 and   少年时光. He's a nice man! Treated us all to lunch yay =D

After that it was work (dilema much!), and at 4.45 we set off for ECP for weekly bible study with the biker gang (sounds cool lololol). But after the enormous effort spent in getting a taxi, a horrendous taxi ride and an even more horrifying price tag i think i might want to spend more time taking train and bus next week! Anw, we had our bible study at the regular KFC place, waited for Seth,Joel and Harry to arrive, and had dinner there! Made alot of small talk, and realised also that these guys are quite fun to talk to and talk with! Can joke and yet serious at the same time =D 

Bible study was a continuation of the previous one that we also had at KFC, that after agreeing, thanking and trusting him, we must also continue to grow in and continually rely on God the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Sprit is what we focused on, this is quite the continuation from the morning devotion isn't it! So we explored what the Spirit is, what it means to have the Spirit in our lives, how the Spirit manifests itself in our lives. and one very important point we learned was that no one could become a Christian if it was not for the Spirit's leading, enabling us to have the faith, and the courage and conviction to believe. Also we learned that upon becoming a Christian, we already have the Spirit in our lives, and He shows Himself by guiding our thoughts and minds, giving us an awareness of conscience so that we know what sin is according to God, and so that we may repent whenever we sin. He also gifts us with His fruit, which of course refers to the nine characteristics of  love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, and these manifest themselves whenever we are tempted to sin, helping us continue in a blameless walk with God =)
